Just Believe with Me
My 39 year old best friend of almost 30 yrs, Sabrina (Elkins) Hulan, was recently diagnosed with Stage IV Metastatic Melanoma. By day she is the most enchanting soul on the planet, by night, ironically, a Radiologic Technologist. Sabrina, recently wed in August to Mr. Wonderful, Donnie Hulan. They have 2 children: Brandon (18) & Kayleigh (9). This past week starting Monday, Sabrina & Donnie, received the horrifying news: she has malignant tumors in both lungs and their specific origin is unknown. Wed: Her Oncologist confirmed the diagnosis of cancer in both lungs and in several lymph nodes in different areas and ordered more tests and scans. Thurs: They were informed she has a small tumor on her brain and by Fri: she received her 1st immunotherapy treatment and an appointment the following week for a round of radiation. (Tell me again how you had a bad week). On February 1, 2016 Sabrina posted a Facebook comment asking “if i died tomorrow what is the one thing you would always remember about me?” My response (I hate those questions), “You are a conqueror.” I didn’t accept that death sentence then any more than I do this one now. She will beat this. In the meantime I am asking for two things: your prayers & financial support to this family. Though she plans on working as long as she can, she will likely have to take off and possibly even cut back; and as her income decreases, well, let’s just say this can be distracting. Please join her family, friends and me in our efforts to alleviate at least one burden this beautiful, young woman and her family must endure so they may focus on the most important thing… Sabrina.
