Sabino family damages fund

Donation protected
Hello everyone, in the early morning around midnight Thursday August 4th, a crash involving a drunk driver ended up with a full sized truck in our kitchen. We live on the corner of N. Carefree and Springs Ranch Drive, on the corner of the football field of Sand Creek High school. This corner is known for accidents and this is actually the 4th accident that has happened in the two years that my parents have owned this house. The one just before this took out the fire hydrant and launched it into the side of my parents car severely damaging it. The one before that took out the developments fence and neighborhood sign. The HOA knows of this issue and has sat on providing something to fix the solution. This time we will be contacting the HOA again along with the city for maybe some type of cement barrier. Me and my wife had just left the exact part of the kitchen just minutes prior to the accident. It’s becoming severely unsafe. We don’t know the extent of the damages because we have to have the insurance companies and general contractors come out to inspect the damage. But we know it’s going to be a hefty deductible for the insurance claim. We don’t expect any help from the drunk driver because he had no insurance. Along with the damages inside to all our dishes, appliances broken and countless other things broken in the kitchen. Our fence was obviously driven through, our boat ran over, bricks launched and broke the dog kennel. So we don’t know how much money we actually need or what will be covered but if we seek some relief to try and get some things that we need soon. A new gate to keep our 3 dogs in the yard and just replacements for some things broken would be a start. The people and the City of Colorado Springs has come through for our family once before so I know it can be done again. If anyone remembers in January of 2011 over off of Centennial and Garden of the Gods area, our house burnt down in the middle of the night. My father ran back into the burning house to save my little brother and they both got severely burned. My father was given awards from the City for his acts of courage and bravery for running back into a burning building to save his son. But all he says is that’s what any father would do. After almost 2 years in the hospital they were finally sent home it was a long battle and now he spends his days at home since he is no longer able to work. My mother is his caregiver and spends her time being his at home caregiver. They are always thinking of others and help when and where they can. I’m not sure how much traction this will gain seeing it is our first time making a gofundme and honestly have a hard time asking for help for ourselves but it doesn’t hurt. It’s a shame good people have to suffer for the poor decisions of others. So I want to thank all of you in advance for anything contributed.
