Hey everyone!
So for those of you who know me closely, you know that I have dreamed of Europe for as long as I can remember…and the opportunity has finally arrived!!! In June I will be going to Spain to finish my Spanish minor!
As thrilled as I am to experience a whole new country and culture, I want to explain that this opportunity is about so much more than traveling.
This is about seeking the best opportunity for learning the language I have completely fallen in love with.
Seeing as how I graduate in a year, it would be fitting to have a game plan for what comes next…but I don’t. There are so many doors and yet I have no idea which one to open. I am certain, however, that whatever I do, Spanish will be involved. Maybe it’s moving to another country to teach. Maybe it’s staying in America to help English Language Learners. Maybe it’s returning to Central or South America on a mission trip.
Whatever it is, I want to give myself the best opportunity to learn. In Spain, not only will I be studying at a university, but I will be living with a host family and touring the country. I will be required to use Spanish all the time (which is both terrifying and awesome!)
Currently, the biggest challenge is raising the funds. While I have made plans to fundraise over the next few months, I’m hoping donations provide most of the funds. I have just started fundraising, so currently the goal is 5,000 dollars. (This covers tuition, housing accommodations, transportation, food, and traveling fees.) Please think and pray about giving. Even a small donation helps in a great way. And whether you are in a position to give or not, I would always love to have your prayers and encouragement!
