We survived Harvey, now ICE takes husband/father

Donation protected
Almost a year ago, on June 21, 2018, Arizona police profiled and stopped my husband Rigoberto Perez Montenegro as he was ordering food in the drive-through lane of a fast food restaurant. He was questioned and held for no apparent reason until ICE came to put him in detention, where he has been separated from his wife and six kids ever since.

During the Harvey hurricane that devastated Houston, Rigoberto, his wife Esmeralda, and children were forced to leave their flooded home, and buy another one. The previous owner lied about the home's flooding during Harvey, and despite help from the community, the family is hoping to save money to remove mold and other unhealthy conditions from their family home.

Rigoberto's wife cares for their children full-time, two of whom have medical conditions that require weekly visits to the doctor, and she is not able to work to make ends meet. With the deportation of her husband, father to her children, and primary household income, Rigoberto's wife has had to make difficult decisions between the health of her family and her husband's immigration case.

This unfortunate situation has also encouraged Esmeralda to become an advocate and leader in her community and is a member of a local immigrant rights group called LaUnidad11.

Your donation can help fight Rigoberto's case, bring him home, and help this family survive this second disaster and fix their home. She and her children greatly appreciate any and all help.
