Saturday, November 11th at 12:46 am, Michael Samartino's life was unfairly cut short. Mike was a son, a brother, an uncle, and a great uncle. He was a godfather to his great niece Eliana, and was also an amazing partner and friend to Lindsay. They talked about marriage, their future, and were excited about the new business venture they were starting together.
Mike was the jack of all trades. He served in the Navy, was a body builder turned personal trainer, he worked for ESPN, and was a Sheriff's Deputy for Pasco County. Mike also had a lifelong obsession with sports, which he loved to both play and watch, and he was especially passionate about the Pittsburgh Steelers.
It would take only a few minutes spent with Michael to make you never forget him, and once you became his friend, you knew it was for life. Mike was honest and big hearted, strong as hell, yet soft when need be. He was a colorful character with a huge personality and a beautiful soul. He was truly an amazing person. After a career setback, life was finally starting to look up and Mike had a new found light moving forward with the love of his life, but unfortunately it was all taken away from him too soon.
He left behind his 3 siblings, 8 nieces and nephews, 8 great nieces and nephews, and his wonderful life partner. This money will be going to his cremation and also his celebration of life/ memorial service. The reason we are seeking financial help is because this was all so sudden and unexpected. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts to all who donate to help us give him a proper burial and celebrate this amazing man's life properly with all those who love him.
