2 Years Sober! A great Guy, Uncle, and Brother needs a little help as he makes a new start.
This Sunday night, my brother, Christian King graduates from the Welcome Home Ranch in Arizona, and celebrates being Sober for 2 years now! He has been there recovering from alcoholism, and also learning important life skills. Christian has worked very hard on the ranch and just as hard at staying sober for 2 years. It has been an amazing experience, but when he graduates Sunday night, he leaves with just his suitcase, and the skills he's learned. He needs some financial help for first and last month’s rent, office work clothes (he only has his ranch work clothes), tuition and laptop to continue with his online classes toward his goal of earning his degree, and a maybe if we're lucky, money for a bike for transportation. He already has a new job he started this week thanks to some wonderful family in Arizona.
Our Goal is to raise $1,500 to help him get his fresh start. I think it's important you know that Christian has worked for most of his rehabilitation expenses and the rest has been covered by immediate family.
If you aren't familiar with the Welcome Home Ranch, it is a non-profit equestrian center and home to the John Volken Academy. The young men that work on the ranch are all recovering from addiction. It's a wonderful program that allows young men to work on a ranch that produces revenue while they work on their own recovery. They are not paid, but the revenue from the ranch covers room and board.
We are so happy and excited for Christian to graduate! Please donate what you feel you can, to help him get his fresh start. Right now he only has ranch working clothes and his new job will be in an office. He also has to pay first and last month’s rent to get in to his apartment which he'll need after he graduates Sunday night. Transportation, a laptop, and a little tuition, will be a tremendous blessing to him as he starts down this new path in his life. Thank you for your help! We love you!
