The city of Omaha says we have to put a new roof on my Mom and Dad's house, Richard and Hazel Burgess, and ake some outside repairs by August 18.  Dad is 87 and tried to get a loan, but mom and dad have too much debt for a loan and too much income for a charity to do it.  We are stuck.  If they city does it and charges them and fines them they could lose their house since they live very close to the edge to make the mortgage payments.  I've been told not to try to do it myself because of my back and I'm afraid of heights.  Houses in the area had roofs put on for 24,000 but a former parisioner says he would do it for 10,000.  If we can't make that amount I'm trying to find workers to help and get enough together to buy the materials, around 5,000 and hope we don't fall off the roof.  We have to replace a bunch of sheets of plywood, some facia boards and sofits, paint, tear off, lay roof, pickup and remove the debris and replace the vents and to top it all off buy a permit.  I had hoped to retire to their home, but it is looking very scary for them.  It is really hard to ask, but if you can help, thank you.  May God bless you for thinking of them and me.  Rev.
