Fight For Tessi

Meet Tessi; she recently came into our lives after she and our younger brother, Jeff, started dating. These past six months have flown by, but in that time, we have had the pleasure of getting to know how selfless and beautiful Tessi truly is. She has enriched our lives in so many ways and we wish to give back to her, in any way we can.

Tessi is a single parent to an adorable eight year old, named Hunter. Tessi works hard to balance work and life with her son, family and of course her extended family and friends (us). She is also the President of her Rotary Club in Fairfield Glade, TN. Yet, she still finds time to give back to her community by helping local children and she also travels to other countries for charity work. To us, she is truly one in a million and we are blessed to have her in our lives.

So, you might be asking yourself, why am I here? It sounds like this girl  doesn’t need our help, well, that couldn’t be further from the truth. On August 2nd, Tessi was diagnosed with one of the most rare forms of cancer, Rhabdomyosarcoma. It is a rare form of cancer most commonly found in male boys under the age of 10. Currently, there are only 20-30 cases of this cancer per year in the United States. Not much is known about this type of cancer, especially when it is found in adults. Due to it's rarity, there are only a few Cancer Centers in the US that treat it.  While meeting with her doctor in Tennessee, she was told if he were in her shoes, he would have been on a plane to Houston, Texas a week ago. MD Anderson, located in Houston is one of the few Cancer treatment centers in the US that has successfully treated this cancer.

Taking the doctors advice, Tessi and Jeff left for Texas on Sunday, August 12, 2018. The doctors say this will be the battle of her life and it will get tough.  She has handled this with such grace and is staying positive. I have no doubt in my mind, with your help, we can fight this battle alongside her! 

The details:
The treatment is going to be intense. It will require surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. Tessi will need to travel back and forth between TN and TX during the course of her treatment. This cancer is extremely aggressive, so it is imperative that she start treatment immediately.  While, we do not know how much the treatment will cost at this time, we are starting with a modest goal of $10,000. The funds will be used for travel and hotel expenses as well as the cost of treatment. Please do not delay, we need your help now. Updates will be given weekly, so please follow along.
