Avery's Angels
On Wednesday Aug 2 at 8:43 pm, Melissa welcomed her first daughter, Avery, in to the world. Surrounded by myself, her mother, and best friend everyone was very happy!
On aug 4th they discovered that Avery had not had a bowel movement yet so they took her to the NICU for observation. The next day Avery was taken to BC Childrens Hospital where she went through her first surgery to empty out her bowel as the Drs discovered her small intestines were not attached to her large intestines . Avery came out of that one with a stoma and a colostomy bag. Drs said they would go in and reattach her bowels around the 4 month old mark.
On Aug 7th, Avery got extremely ill. She was rushed in to emergency surgery twice where the outcome could be life threatening. Not even a week old and already been under the knife 3 times. In the early hours of Aug 8th, Avery took her last breath and died in her mothers arms. Avery is now an angel.
