Help for the Duckworth Family
Prayers and financial support are in urgent need for Allan and Sue Duckworth following the loss of their daughter, Carolyn.
After a lifelong battle with chronic pain and illness, our sweet Carolyn passed away at age 29 on Tuesday, July 11, 2017. We were able to spend her final days and hours with her at home, and even though she had been in hospice care for the past few months, her absence now is still so shocking and painful. She was just the kindest, sweetest and most considerate person... always selflessly concerned with the wellbeing of others despite her own health struggles. The world is a bit darker now without her bright smile.
While we will all be grieving for Carolyn for a long time, her parents will be suffering from her loss as well as shouldering the heavy financial burden of her outstanding medical and funeral expenses. We would like to help lighten their load to allow them to focus on recovering from the tragic loss of their youngest child. Since the day she was born with a congenital heart defect, all of their time, attention and resources have been tirelessly devoted to trying to improve Carolyn's health and provide her with a happy and fulfilling life.
Since October when she started rapidly declining, Carolyn endured 5 extended hospital stays in the ICU, multiple invasive (and painful) procedures, consultations and treatments from dozens of medical specialists, an emergency helicopter ride to Tucson, and more medicine than anyone can account for. Even with so much of this covered by insurance, Allan and Sue are still left with exorbitant out of pocket expenses from the many years of providing full time care for her on one income.
In addition to any monetary contributions you may wish to offer, the family is in desperate need of healing prayer. Carolyn was such a special person who had such a positive impact on all of us... please help us help the Duckworths find some peace through the devastating loss of their beloved little girl.
