Help a Hurricane Florence victim

My name is Diana DeFilippo and it is with such sadness that I begin to write this gofundme description. My dear friend and Coworker, Sarah Brown (as well as her loving family including the lovely Ms. Hattie B Fair Owens), was victim to Hurricane Florence's flooding in Conway, SC.  This storm devastated the coastal areas in both the Carolina's. Sarah had moved here recently and her family has only been in this home for less than a year. When they moved in, they were not told that they were in a flood area. It was with much shock and heartbreak that they woke up Monday, September  17,2018 , after returning home the night before from evacuation, and found that their home and neighbor hood was beginning to flood from a flash flood caused by the Hurricane. . Sarah is the most giving person. She and her family, although here in the area for less than a year, has embraced me as their own. Ms. Hattie has also grown to be like an Auntie to me. She welcomes me to her home with a smile and always has a laugh to share. Sarah is the type of person, knowing me less than two months, made sure she came over and checked on me everyday after I had emergency surgery. I was only just a coworker then.  I have watched Sarah selflessly give time to make sure that everyone is always well cared for and sacrifices much of her personal time to do so. It is only fair that someone so wonderful is able to rebuild in her time of extreme need. Sarah has lost her car, many household items, furniture and must help her family rebuild after losing a home that was so important to them. They are going to need help to rebuild and I am hoping that as a community, we can begin to help this family get back on their feet. An immediate need is help with her obtaining funds for a car so she can continue to make it to work.  Hopefully we can come together and help! Thank you!
