S. Gulf Island's Red Dress Ceremony

Donation protected
The Red Dress (Redress) Project was started by Metis artist Jaimie Black in 2010.
Jaimie's wish was for communities to participate in this project in their own way to bring awareness to Missing and Murdered Aboriginal Women and Girls.
A couple years ago, Mayne Island participated in this project with a community ceremony.
Last year Salt Spring Island participated by hanging dresses in their community.
This year, Mayne, Galiano and Salt Spring have agreed to come together to participate in this project. The "wish" is to eventually include all the Southern Gulf Islands. But, for now there are three islands who require $2200.00 (total) to cover costs for one volunteer from each island to conduct the necessary "leg work" and posters/promotion.
The official day in Canada is October 4th. We will need these funds by August 2017.
Each island will arrange an event suited to their community.
