What About The Orphans

Donation protected

To many people, parental care and love have a variety of meanings. For some, it is the discipline that helps them become better persons in the society. For others, having parents that care about them is akin to having the most efficient winter jackets in the thick of winter. I’m sure you have a definition of what or who a parental figure should be. We had ours, too, until we took a trip to a district that changed our lives forever.

Often, we try to change the narrative for people who define their parents negatively. However, how do you change the story for people who have no definition of what a parental figure is? How do you paint the picture of a parent as a guardian angel to kids who have never known their parents? Right from the heart of Hamden, Connecticut, in the United States of America, our team of experts at the Ryvanz-Mia Charity has made it a duty to continually touch the lives of children from all over the world. From the onset, we have always catered for children who had been abandoned by their parents for unknown reasons. Some of these kids have never felt the warm embrace of their biological parents.

Ryvanz-Mia Charity

When we started in Ghana as an Orphanage home back in 2006, we dedicated our lives in service to children who had been abandoned by their families. Although some of these kids became orphans due to the loss of both parents to diseases, natural disasters, or poverty, many others were found in horrible situations with heart-wrenching stories and experiences. We never gave up on them.

With the help of the Department of Social Welfare and the local community, we are sometimes able to trace the parents of these abandoned children. Still, they usually shy away from their responsibilities because of harsh economic conditions or the excruciating poverty that makes it difficult for them to care for their children. Consequently, we have executed major sensitization programs, while also doing our best to encourage and financially support financially handicapped families towards reducing the rate of abandoned children.

Recently, we got informed that a 37-year-old woman in Uganda who initially gave birth to a set of twins and triplets had been blessed once again with quintuplets. As a woman with no one to rely on, she is grossly incapable of feeding the babies. Rather than enjoy a medically recommended rest, she now moves around from one radio station to another, hoping that someone will care enough to render support. We were fortunate to have had a conversation with her while she was still in the hospital with her kids. Unfortunately, one of the babies was lost to malnutrition and inadequate care.

Current Challenges

With the Covid-19 pandemic currently hitting hard, a lot of abandoned babies are beginning to turn up once again. While we make no excuses for these parents, we believe that these babies deserve to be cared for until their parents are found, or until we can find a loving home for them. Unfortunately, many of our sponsors are suffering from job cuts and income losses. Our local programs Ghana, Uganda, Zimbabwe, and DR Congo, are now overrun with toddlers and infants even as we are completely running out of food supplies. We fear for what may happen soon.

As a legally approved non-profit entity in the United States of America identifiable with Tax EIN Number 85-0896070, we are soliciting for your support to help fund our orphan feeding program.

How We Will Use Every Donation

Our primary aim of seeking donations is to raise enough money for the purchase of food and medical supplies to keep our children healthy and fed. Our current programs in Ghana, Uganda, Zimbabwe, and DR Congo are homes to over three hundred kids who could starve in as little as seven days. With your donation, we will be purchasing items like Rice, Beans, Maize, Yams, Eggs, Plantains, Baby Food, Diapers, Baby Wipes, Blankets, Drugs, Face Mask, Hand Sanitizers, and other essential items.

How You Can Help

Every donation goes a long way. We have decided to launch this campaign with zero obligations. We do not require a specific amount from you, so we have left this option open to allow you to donate as little or as much as you can afford to. We do also appreciate non-financial supporters who will help us share our campaign on social media.

Sharing this campaign amongst your friends and family means as much to us as financial support. Every share is an effort to put a smile on the face of our little champs!

Information about the total donations we have received and how the money will be used will be updated on our website - https://www.ryvanzmiacharity.org/ for accountability purposes.

We look forward to your generosity. Thank you for your support.
