Rylie Gives Hope

Donation protected
Hello, our names are Jennifer Schultz and Bobbi-Ann Didluck. We are Rylie's Aunties. We created this page for Rylie and her family to find answers and give hope. Thank you for your time.

Rylie Schultz-Saunders was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan at the Royal University Hospital. She came into this world on June 11, 2018 and left us on October 2, 2018. She was made a little different than most babies and the doctors often referred to her condition as a medical mystery.  What they did know about her was that she had multiple health conditions and physical abnormalities. Multiple genetic tests were done and came back normal. A few of the conditions we did know were the following:
-Microcephaly which means her head circumference was smaller than normal.
-Pierre Robins, type micrognathia which is a condition in which the jaw is undersized.
-Sleep apnea, OSA.
-Two moderate ASD's which is a heart defect where the blood isn't shunted correctly.
-Sacrum abnormalities.
-Congenital knee dislocation.
-Metopic craniosynostosis which is when the fontanels are fused together. Rylie's were partially fused.
-High pulmonary pressure and multiple physical anomalies.

The Royal University Hospital became Rylie's home as she never had the chance to leave.  Through out her life, Rylie endured more obstacles than most grown people face in a lifetime. Through multiple tests, procedures and surgeries, Rylie never gave up. We called Rylie our little fighter. Her Mother and Father had to stand by and watch the medical team fight for Rylie's life on multiple occasions. Her mom and dad spent every single day at the hospital, hours upon hours, holding her, singing to her and hoping and praying for answers. But the time came, when Rylie's fight was over. Her mom and dad were holding her in her last moments, she was loved and left this Earth finally free from pain and at peace. We are creating this page to raise money to donate to the new Jim Pattison Children's Hospital Foundation in Rylie's honour. All proceeds will be going to the pediatric unit. In doing so, we want to bring hope to other children and families like Rylie. Thank you.
