Rykers Heart Surgery
Ryker Daniel was born August 11th, 2017. We knew of one of his heart conditions prior to him being born but found out he had more issues than we originally thought after he was born. When he was first born he had a week stay in the NICU followed by a 3 day stay in the PICU. He was doing so good the past few weeks but slowly started having issues here and there. His weight and growth are starting to show signs of heart failure as well as other signs they have us look out for. The fluid around his lungs keep building up which causes him to work extra hard to breathe. We just hit his 2 month mark yesterday the 11th and were not expecting the call that our son would need open heart surgery within the next few weeks. With Ryker just being born 2 months ago Daniel and myself took our vacation time but will once again be out of work because of his surgery and the ups and down that follow. Ryker will be having open heart surgery.. AT TWO MONTHS YALL. My heart is hurting and wish I could take his place but I can't. We were really hoping that he would be ok and try to reach his 1st Birthday but since he is showing signs of heart failure and is still for the most part healthy other than the weight, growth, breathing, etc they want to do surgery now to give him a better chance.. Their words not mine and trust me those words break me. I am not ready for this.. They also told me that since he has multiple heart defects that once they go in is when they will know everything because ultrasound can only show so much. He also mentioned that there could be complications after the surgery.
We are hoping that we could ask for your help with us having to miss work and not getting paid as well as the cost of the surgery and the hospital stay and bills to follow. This was unexpected and anything helps. I really do mean anything, even prayers.
We love everyone and if you can't donate..your prayers are better than nothing. We are trying to trust God but knowing that my baby is going to be on a bypass machine.. the only thing keeping him alive while they fix his little heart... is so hard.. Please pray for his strength and healing.
