I am Ryan Sinclair’s younger sister, Sydney, and I will be sharing his story and keeping you all updated.
On January 16, 2015 (Friday), Ryan got a loan and purchased a new car. He eagerly brought the car home. His face gleamed when he showed it off; he was so proud.
On January 18, 2015 (Sunday), my family received a phone call at 2 am. All that we were told was that my brother got into a wreck in Cleveland, Tennessee, and after being cut out of his car, he was being air lifted to Erlanger.
That was the scariest call of my life.
We arrived to the ER and asked about Ryan. He wasn't even there yet. After hours, they brought out his bloody bag of clothes. We were waiting to hear that he made it. Luckily, he did. That was our first miracle.
They kept on giving us different information and we learned of a possible brain bleed. By God’s grace, Ryan’s first ER nurse was actually someone we knew. After more CT scans, we learned that he did have a brain bleed, it grew, but the bleed was stable and very small.
After 13 hours in the trauma unit of the ER, Ryan was moved to the Trauma ICU. We learned that He has a fractured scapula and clavicle. He also has several facial fractures around his eye. His face has two good size cuts and one on the back of his head, which all had to be sutured.
He has been on medications and has been heavily sedated. They have him on a ventilator. As of now (1/20/14), they are hoping to get him off of the ventilator very soon and have him wake up. He is responding some, which is very good! He even tried to open his eyes this morning PRAYERS WORK!
I know that all of the treatments and services he has received will be extremely expensive. A donation of any size will help our family with the financial stress. Once again, the most important thing we can do is PRAY!
