Ryan Widmer, an innocent man

On August 11, 2008, after kissing her husband goodnight, Sarah Widmer went upstairs to take a bath. Little did Ryan know that would be the last time he saw his wife alive. Sarah had complained to friends and co-workers that day that she hadn’t been feeling well. Ryan went into the bathroom around 30 minutes later and found Sarah unconscious in the bathtub. He sat her up, pulled the drain and called 911. After over 45 minutes of resuscitation attempts Sarah was pronounced dead. However Ryan’s nightmare was just beginning because he would be charged with her murder within two days of losing his wife. Sarah had frequent headaches and excessive daytime sleepiness as well as several characteristics in common with Long QT Sydrome. But before knowing Sarah’s medical history and despite not having a motive or an explanation of how or where the drowning happened prosecutors charged Ryan.  Unfortunately the coroner did not conduct tests that could have explained what actually happened to Sarah. Further testing was not an option since the coroner did not correctly preserve the brain and the heart. There is DNA of Sarah’s in the prosecutors possession that Ryan is fighting to have tested. After 3 trials and over 8 years in prison, Ryan still has no answers about what happened to his wife that night.  Please help us raise the funds to pay for the DNA testing, if prosecution agrees to release it, and any legal fees.
