On Sunday November 27th, I had the pleasure of meeting this sweet young man for the first time, he and my daughter Laynie had been talking on the phone for a couple of months, this was only their second time meeting. He was with us almost all day, watched movies with Laynie and had a great dinner with our family and some of our friends. The accident happened just minutes from our home in Rio Vista. To know that we were the last ones with him has been very emotional and our hearts ache. Please join me in trying to lessen the burden in the only way we can for this poor family by raising some money to help with his funeral, memorial and whatever they may need to get through this tragic time. Rest in Peace Ryan, we all wish we had more time. ️

On the evening of Sunday, November 27, 2022, our son, Ryan Oliver Aguirre was struck and killed in a head-on collision by an intoxicated 20 year old female, on Hwy 160 in Sacramento, as she crossed the median and pushed him down the levee road. She was arrested on scene and received only minor injuries, while he died in transent to the hospital. •••••••••••••••••••• Ryan was the most amazing 18 year old, who was just really finally coming into his own. He had a job at a carwash and was working towards becoming a supervisor. He loved his car beyond words, and would constantly clean, wash and polish it even after long days of doing the same for other people's cars. He was a 2022 graduate of Elk Grove High School, and was so proud, in spite of past medical trauma and some schooling setbacks because of it, to have gotten his high school diploma. He loved working to perfect his skateboarding skills, "hang" with his friends, play video games online with his cousin Henry who is in Oklahoma, and "go to amusement parks with his family"...his words, that we were just told for the first time the day after his passing. Ryan loved his family! He, just a week to the day before his passing spent the entire day with his Dad, Steve, Mom, Laura and little sister, Evelyn by going up to the foothills and picking out the family's Christmas tree, then went with them to take family photos later in the day. He also got to spend time with his Grandma Luby and his Grandparents Bob and Diane, along with cousins Colin, Natalie, and Darian and Uncle Bryan and Aunt Leta over the past couple of days of the holiday week, who were all so happy to have him around them. One of his most recent visits with his Mom, Kara included an escape room and quality time spent with his little brother Kade. Ryan genuinely had no clue how much of an impact he had on so many and how many people loved him in all aspects of his life. Rest in peace, our dear sweet boy. There aren't enough ways to say how much we love you. ••••••••••••••••••••••• There will be a private family burial, followed by a public Celebration of Life to be held on Monday, December 12th at 1:00pm at River City Christian Church (10933 Progress Court Rancho Cordova, CA 95670). The family requests that you dress in whatever you're comfortable in, with preferably bright colors. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you consider making a donation to the UCSF Foundation ( where Ryan was diagnosed with Bow Hunters Syndrome and his life was saved when he was 9 years old or to We Save Lives ( to help in the education and prevention of intoxicated driving.
