Lyme Healing

Donation protected
It is likely that you do not know this man but I think you will be moved by his story:

Joshua Hren is a 39 yr old devoted husband, father, and Honors College professor at Belmont Abbey College, and editor of Wiseblood Books.
Almost 20 years ago, he became wracked with mysterious shooting pains throughout his body.  He became bedridden, unable to work and care for his family.  Eventually he was diagnosed with chronic Lyme Disease.  As can be imagined, he spent countless hours and dollars on doctor visits and a wide variety of protocols, none of which  have been able to  eliminate his illness  nor  alleviate his symptoms.  He has at least been able to work full time, but at a great cost to his mental, emotional, and physical body.  Not infrequently, he spends the weekends mainly incapacitated, trying to rest in order to recover for the next work week. The Lyme spirochetes have burrowed so deeply into his cells that he is constantly exhausted and in pain.  Every noise and unexpected movement is automatically irritating.  He has become allergic to so many foods which has added to the loss of health.   And then there are the hormonal irregularities, as well as mental fog; the fog comes multiple times throughout the day and prevents thinking.  Prep for teaching often takes twice as long as it should.   All of this has so greatly affected his ability to be a devoted, loving husband , father and teacher.

I ask that you please continue reading what Dr. Hren shared with me.

The sufferings of my adult life have been occasion for much growth in Christ.  I cling to St. Paul's words: "And he said to me: My grace is sufficient for thee; for power is made perfect in infirmity." If God so wills it, I accept the continuation of Lyme disease, its  attendant co-infections (which are the source of some of the worst symptoms), and the severe limitations these place on my ability to be the father, teacher, and writer I long to be.  Many, many souls suffer more profoundly. For this reason I am somewhat wary of asking that your generosity, which could surely be directed toward any number of other needs, come to our aid.
But that word "our" is the reason why I am now conceding to this appeal. This is not really about me. It is more fully about my family, whom I love so deeply. It is about my beautiful, faithful wife Brittney, who is under considerable pressure on account of my constant sickness.   Even though she is worn down by Lupus, she has weathered all of this without growing resentful.

Over the last ten years, I have exhausted conventional, traditional medical therapies and treatments that are covered by insurance. The most promising  alternative  treatment for chronic, autoimmune phase Lyme that I have not tried is the Rife Machine.    Lyme specialist , Dr. Connor,  who uses this machine, has accepted me as a patient.   You can learn more about it here:

We have already invested a larger amount for this treatment. We are asking your help as we try to raise an additional $20,000 so that I can go forward with this treatment.  This amount will be used for  monthly appointments, necessary  lab work,  medicines,  travel,  and extensive mold remediation in our home which is critical for my healing from Lyme.

We thank you for adding to the works of love of so many others, and also for all prayers you can offer up, with great faith and hope—that, if He so wills it, healing will come, and the Lord may be glorified!

With much gratitude and love,
Joshua  and Brittney Hren
