Project Pat

When I first moved out to Denver, I didn't know many people at all.  One of my roommates was Patrick.  Pat and I became instant friends.  From the very beginning, Pat treated me like a lifelong friend. He would invite me to whatever he was doing knowing that I knew no one.  I realized very quickly that Pat was one of those friends that would give you the shirt off his back, as well as his shorts.  Pat is one of my closest friends that I have made in the last three years.  

This past August 2016, Pat was diagnosed with thyroid cancer that had spread to his lymph nodes.  He had sucessful surgery where they removed his thyroid as well as 28 lymph nodes on the left side of his neck; 21 of which were positive for cancer.  Due to many medical bills and having to take time off of work, Pat rushed back to work two months later.  He completed radiation on November 28th, and he was back at work on December 5th. Pat instantly was working 60 hours a week due to the medical bills that he owed. 

Three weeks ago, Pat came over and told me that the cancer was back and this time it is on the right side of his neck.  Pat will be going in for surgery on June 27th. I am setting up this go fund me to help him out and take off the financial stress and burden on him.  He is still paying off medical bills from when he was first diagnosed.  

If you know Pat, then you know he would never ask for help even though he is always willing to help others.  As his buddy, I decided to set up this page.  So instead of going to the bar one night, or getting that hamburger, please donate whatever you can to Pat. Last thing I want to say is that the entire time Pat has remained extremely positive. I have never heard him complain once when most would be super down.  Even if you're not able to donate any money, sending good thoughts, vibes and/or prayers would be much appreciated.  #cancersucks
