Ruth’s run for Elsie
Hello friends. Thanks for clicking the link to get this far.
I’m Ruth. I live in Southport with my wife and two kids - Chester and Ainsley. This summer, Southport was catapulted into notoriety by virtue of the awful attack that took place.
One of the little girls who lost her life was Elsie-Dot Stancombe. Elsie was one of Chester’s classmates and a friend of his. A friend of all of us. A delightful, bright, funny, unique and utterly delightful little girl. She was inquisitive, quirky and made me laugh. She loved to dance, design clothes and play.
Her parents Jenni and Day have channelled our community into positivity since setting up their charitable fund - Elsie’s Story. This incredible action and their compelling desire to seek to find a positive during an otherwise bleak time is inspiring for all of us. The link is below so you can see exactly what the Trust is and all the great work done so far.
Anyway. In a way to raise some money for this brilliant cause, I’m running the Liverpool Half Marathon on 23 Mar. So if you can donate anything…..thank you. I’ll be channelling my inner Elsie. Her spirit will never die. Thanks everyone. Ruth
