Ruth Earley Cauda Equina Syndrome

In April 2018, Leitrim native Ruth Earley (36) was diagnosed with Cauda Equina Syndrome, a spinal cord injury which has left her with life changing injuries including almost complete paralysis in the lower half of her body and facing the prospect of spending the rest of her life in a wheelchair.

The medical expenses and associated costs involved with this diagnosis are mounting and she has been unable to continue to work during this period.

Her neighbours, friends and family are seeking your assistance in generating a fund to help with her medical expenses and obtaining the equipment necessary to live a somewhat normal life during and after an extensive rehabilitation programme which is likely to last between 18 & 24 months.

We will be holding a Benefit Social in Leitrim Gaels Community Field, Leitrim Village, Co. Leitrim, Ireland on the evening of Saturday, 29th September 2018 to raise money to support Ruth through this very difficult period and to assist her to continue to rehabilitate and hopefully eventually return to work. If you are not able to make the event we would greatly appreciate if you might be able to make any donation to this campaign.

Her first requirements are to purchase a wheelchair and a machine to help her rehabilitation to keep the blood circulating through her legs and help aid improvements.

Having reached our initial goal of €5,000  for a permanent wheelchair for Ruth, our next goal is to fund the compression machine which will be a further €6,100 cost. Our new combined goal is €11,100.
