Rusty Coights Rickshaw Run

Donation protected
Ladies, gentlemen, punters and gender fluid flexitarians.

Prepare yourself to witness the next greatest thing since Mufasa held Simba over pride rock to show his mates he could get the job done. The Rickshaw Run is a tantalizingly crazy adventure in which five mates will cram themselves into tricked out 7 horsepower glorified lawnmowers (AKA rickshaws) to traverse about 2500km of India’s teeth shattering “roads”, from Jaisalmer in India’s Northwest to Kochin in the far South.

These little babies are more than just a way to get from A to B in pure comfort and style. They boast a top speed of about 60km/h which will be largely dependant on the wind, the size of the hill and how fast we can push. To put that into perspective, if we were to drive these icons of motorsport from Perth to Broome, we’d still have another 200km to go.

Directions are a luxury we will not be afforded so we will be navigating via the stars in a true testament to our hero, Russell Coight. The two week rally will be a test that will terrify and probably breaks our feeble western stomachs along with other appendages.

Like Mufasa, we have every confidence that we can also get the job done however, we need your help to succeed. This adventure is more than an opportunity for you to laugh at us for our poor life choices. This quest will afford us the opportunity to raise money for a number of very worthy causes.

·      Rural men's health: A WA based initiative that has many programs helping rural men with both physical and mental health.

·      Cool Earth: A charity that works alongside indigenous villages in south-east Asia to slow rainforest destruction and help communities thrive.

·      CITTA (Jaisalmer Girls School): A program uniting education and economic development as a means of enhancing gender parity by allowing mothers (and other women) to attend school with the girls from their community.

In order to participate (compete), we need to raise a minimum of $3300 AUD for these charities so we are asking you to please donate anything you are able and willing to part with to these extremely noble organisations that we will be getting behind. We will each be contributing what we can to these worthy causes however, we also need to keep enough for ourselves to pay for 2 weeks’ worth of wet wipes to see us through our daily vindaloo.
