Russian Orphan Bread Oven

This spring, I will be joining a small group of men on a trip to help some of the world’s most forgotten orphans.  In Russia, orphans with disabilities are placed in large institutions that are often located in remote areas of the country.  While these children receive adequate care in the institution, they receive almost no contact with the “outside world” and grow up isolated and usually find themselves unable to enter mainstream society when their time at the orphanage runs out.

We will be partnering with the Russian Orphan Opportunity Fund;  an organization that works to build connections with these children and their local village, providing activities, scholastic and job-education, and ultimately bring hope.

I will be going to the remote village of Belskoye-Ustye and be building a bread oven. This bread oven will provide support and a source of income for the Russian Orphan Opportunity Fund and also, for the first time, fresh baked bread for the town of Belskoye-Ustye and the orphans.

I am inviting you to join me in raising $2,500 in order to help build the oven, and strengthen the work of R.O.O.F. Bringing light to the children of Russia. By donating we will be demonstrating how we who have so much can contribute to change the lives of those who have so little, even across the seas.

Personally, I will be giving of my own finances, time, and skills to bring this about but that is not enough. The bread oven requires us to order and ship the supplies from the nearest city(a 6 hour train ride for us) and the plans to build it alone are nearly $500.

When I return, I will provide a link to the pictures and video of the proof that your contributions are not in vain. Along with the experience to help in any of your future bread oven building endeavors.

If you have the means than I ask you to consider helping me meet this goal with whatever you can.

Follow the link at the end of this video for more information on ROOF and their contributions to the orphans in Russia.
