Russell needs a diabetic alert dog

Donation protected
A new phrase has been introduced to me that captures my fear.  "Dead in bed" are the words to describe a person who dies from  dropping a blood sugar to the point of not waking up again.  Russell is a wonderful six year old with Type 1 diabetes and is hypoglycemic unaware. He takes a minimum of four injections and a minimum of six finger pricks to check his blood sugar levels each day. Russell does not have the awareness of when he is having low blood sugar and is at risk of seizures or a coma if he were to sleep through this. A diabetic alert dog would wake up an adult to have his blood sugar checked and then treat him. A dog like this could realistically save his life. As a single mother, my wish is that Russell and I have some peace and not anxiety about his blood sugar dropping during the night. A Diabetic Alert Dog (DAD) would allow this. Of course the training for such a dog is extensive and very intense, therefore quite expensive. It is difficult for me to ask for monetary assistance, but something like this takes a village. Your love and support is greatly appreciated.
