Russell L Dail Jr. Cancer Fund

Russell was diagnosed in 6/2016 with Stage 4 colon cancer in his colon, liver and kidney when our youngest daughter was graduating high school. She was accepted to VCU but turned it down to stay with her dad. She has accepted that but that is not the main priority right now, we only want to take care of him and get him well.   Forced to retire after 32 years and  not planning to retire for another 10 to 15 years, we are now having to pay $25,000 a year or health insurance plus all the co-pays and the 20% you are still responsible for and we have to do this for another 15 months.  Retired also caused us to lose $1500.00 a month in income.  He was fast tracked to Social Security but not for the health insurance because I still work and he had a retirement.  Well, out of the wonderful $2700 a month retirement check we only see  $450.00 of it after taxes and health insurance.  We have been doing chemo for a year, he had a little shrinkage in his tumors but not enough, they are running out of chemo's to give him.  We met with an intervention radiologist that decided he was a candidate for the radiation beads being inserted in the tumor in the liver so we did that the end of June and nothing has changed .  The surgeon in Norfolk said that he could not surgically remove it cause it was too large and in the inside of his liver. Now we are waiting to go to Duke University to see if they have a solution, he is not a transplant candidate due to two other major organs being affected as well.  
Now that that has been said we are down to one car that has over 300k miles on it, since I was involved in a car accident that totaled our one good car  and we have to start making trips to Duke for his treatments and surgery and he may have to stay down there for a time. 
I don't like doing this but we have no alternative so I hoping that someone out there can help us.
