Russ' Medical Expenses

Hi my name Rich Gray. I want to talk with you about a friend of mine, Russ Apgar. Russ is a Navy Veteran and a Retired Police Officer. He was a police officer for 23.5 years in both New Jersey and New Mexico. He also served his community as a Volunteer Firefighter for nearly 40 years!
Russ is facing some mounting medical expenses due to a genetic kidney disease that was diagnosed in his early 20's causing cysts on his kidneys. Both his father and brother also suffered from the same condition. In his later-life his father had to undergo Kidney Dialysis several times a week for several hours each time.
Russ’ kidneys are swollen to about 4 times their normal size and are almost useless at this time. He is at Stage 5 Renal failure and removal is a short time away. He has gone through all the steps required and is now on the TRANSPLANT LIST.
His NEED is not for the cost of the hospital or the surgery.
Following the surgery there are a series of very expensive anti-rejection drugs that are necessary after the transplant. The hospital requires Russ to have 3 months of funds in the bank to cover expenses for anti-rejection medication & housing. Frankly, the hospital doesn't want to go thru all that is necessary; finding a donor kidney, doing the operation etc. only to have the patient return home and not have the funds necessary for the anti-rejection drugs. This is why the hospital requires the funds in ADVANCE!
That's where WE come in. We will be doing various FUND RAISING projects, special dinners and events to raise enough money for 3 months worth of medication & housing. So please, when you see an upcoming event, come and serve, have dinner, or buy some 50/50 tickets. DONATIONS can also be made via GoFundme and will gratefully be accepted.
