Rural Mental Health Education Tour

I'm Nic Newling and I've been speaking about mental health and suicide prevention for over 10 years to communities all around Australia.

We want to hit the road to visit rural and remote regions to extend our mental health education programmes to places they otherwise wouldn't get to go.  We're dedicated to taking these programmes to places that don't have the funding to access them, but we need your help to get there.

Many rural Australian communities face higher rates of mental illness and suicide than those in cities, while also having the added challenge of higher barriers to getting support. Through delivering our programmes, we can contribute toward people supporting each other, speaking up, and knowing where to get help.

I'm a big believer in sharing real personal stories alongside evidence-based health info to provide hope and encourage action. Here is the journey of my family and me on Australian Story.

Our aim is to hit the road (and air) to engage high school students and their communities with these important, life saving topics and to give a platform to the support services available in their area.

The feedback on our programmes so far has been incredibly positive!:
