Dementia is the second leading cause of death in Australia and it is reported that there are currently 400,000 people in Australia living with Dementia.
It is estimated that 1.2 million Australians are involved in caring for someone with Dementia.

In 2017, our amazing father John was diagnosed with Frontotemporal Dementia. Whilst there is no cure and minimal treatment options available for this form of Dementia, the services that have been involved in our fathers care since his diagnosis have been so helpful in both treatment/respite plans and the support of us all in dealing with his diagnosis.

Despite being Government Funded, the services that are provided to clients with Dementia and their carers require further support to ensure that respite services adequately meet the needs of the clients and their families.

In order to raise money for Dementia Services in the NT, a group of John's loved ones are embarking on a massive mission (massive mission as most participants are presently  extremely unfit :) ) and have registered to complete various distances at the Gold Coast Marathon on the 1st July 2018.

Any support for the Dementia services of the NT would be so greatly appreciated and all fund raised will be donated. If you are interested in joining us on the run, we have a team named #runningforjohnny and we will be doing just that xo
