Running for a cause

Hello everyone! My name is Charles and on May 19-20 , I will be setting out to complete an ultra-marathon run at the KEYS100. The KEYS100 is an annual running event that challenges runners of all experience levels to race across the Florida Keys. I will be running 50 miles (from Marathon to Key West) to raise money for Fernando.
On April 14th of 2009, at the age of 21, Fernando suffered of a brain aneurysm that changed his life dramatically.
Before the aneurysm he was a retail manager and he was being recruited by Irene Marie, a modeling agency, while he was a full time student at Broward Community College.  He was studying to become a fashion designer.
After months in comma, Fernando woke up, but he lost complete control of his body and speech.
Now he is a recovering quadriplegic and he needs lots of therapy and other services to achieve his optimal goal, which is to become as independent as possible. 
There is one more problem... a few months ago, Fer started to complaint of pain in the mouth.  After seeing the dentist, we found out that he has Gingivitis. Most of the time, he has is mouth open. Therefore, he is prone to get infections.
All the money raised will go towards his dental treatment, therapy, and services.
