Hi There; we are a group of 6 people from B&W Equine Vets, in Gloucestershire, and we are competing in 'Race to the Stones', in July 2014.
Rob is the son of one of our colleagues who was tragically injured in a car accident in September 2013. This has left Rob paralysed from the neck down and reliant on a ventilator for his breathing. Despite everything Rob is determined to rebuild his life and has just been awarded a place at Bristol University.
'Race to the Stones' is a 100km ultra-marathon along The Ridgeway, one of the oldest byways in the UK running from Chinor, in Buckinghamshire to Avebury stone circle, near Swindon. We will be following in the footsteps of Vikings, Romans and Drovers in our challenge to raise as much funding as we can for Robs ongoing support and care.
We aim to complete the race over 2 days, running 50km on each day. While we all 'run a bit' only one of us has ever competed over marathon distances before so it's quite an undertaking. However we are determined to complete the race and raise money for such a good cause and one that is very close to all our hearts.
