Running the 2026 Boston Marathon to Support Watts 2 Boston

My name is Patrick O’Malley, and this April, I’ll be running the Boston Marathon in support of the Watts 2 Boston Foundation, a nonprofit that helps students from Watts, Los Angeles get to college and succeed once they’re there.

To date, Watts 2 Boston has supported more than 50 students, providing college application guidance, long-term mentorship, and continued support throughout their college careers. The organization works in coordination with the Los Angeles Police Department, Southeast Division, and other local partners to identify students and connect them with resources they otherwise wouldn’t have access to.

Today, W2B students are enrolled at schools like Northeastern University, Tufts University, and Stonehill College—real outcomes that come from consistent, hands-on support.

I’ve been fortunate to have access to strong schools, mentors, and opportunities, and I’m passionate about helping others gain access to educational resources and opportunities they otherwise may not have.

My goal is to raise $10,000, with funds going directly toward:
  • College application guidance
  • Ongoing mentorship during college
  • Academic and professional support that helps students persist and graduate

Training for Boston is demanding, but it’s a privilege. The students supported by Watts 2 Boston are taking on much bigger challenges, and this organization helps level the playing field.

If you’re able, I’d appreciate your support—either through a donation or by sharing this page. Thanks for being part of it.
