Running New York For Bladder Cancer

I 'peed' a small amount blood whilst at work and in September last year I was diagnosed with bladder cancer. Whilst recieving treatment for my bladder cancer the Consultant stumbled across a second more dangerous tumour on my kidney. I was also diagnosed with kidney cancer, I had cancer, not once but twice. In Novemeber 2016 I underwent major surgery to remove my kidney. My decision not to ignore the blood and the fear of the unknown saved my life as I was to learn that my kidney cancer was 'aggressive' and I was a heartbeat from a terminal diagnosis. All of this happened to me in 3 months.
I recieved so much love and support from my close friends, family and incredible team at Sky that in January I was able to return to work.
I feel compelled now more than ever to give something back to the amazing people and the charity whom were there for me every step of the way and most definately helped in saving my life.
'Fight Bladder Cancer' is a fantastic charity doing some incredible things. I want to help raise their profile and give them as much support as I can. I have completed 4 London Marathons for charities and feal now that I must do something completely extraordinary, especially given the journey I have been on.
The money I am raising will ensure my place in this iconic event, my flights and fee's. Any extra money raised will be added to a seperate charity fund that I will run for the remainder of this year. I am both very excited and nervous to undertake such a huge challenge given that at the moment I struggle to 'run a bath'.

This really is a monumental challenge but one I will complete as I am so grateful to be alive. I will need to secure the money by April to meet the administration deadline.
I cannot begin to tell you all what this means to me and how humbled I am with all of the love and support I continue to received. I will run the New York Marathon because I owe it to everyone fighting or living with cancer.
