Running is for the Dogs!

Want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money to benefit Leashes of Valor, and any donation will help make an impact. Starting at 1200 June 17th  2022 I will be running a 5K every other hour for 24 hours without sleep.

Why this challenge, because many veterans find themselves without the challenges that we faced during our service, that brought us together. I learned this was the aspect I missed about my service so I continued to challenge myself physically and professionally for the past 25 years.  I want veterans to continuously challenge themselves in all aspects of their lives, and fill the void.

Do you want me to wear a uniform, a shirt with your company logo, or other creative ideas during one of the twelve segments? Donate $500 to a segment, and we will name the Segment after you, your family  or your company. I will wear the provided uniform or company apparel, and if you want, you can create the route for the segment. (The segment has to be on Amelia Island, which is where the event will take place) I will do two segments with a 35lb ruck. The last segment will finish at the Veterans memorial on Amelia Island.

I am hoping to garner the support of some of the local watering holes where we can conclude a few of the segments and where we can join veterans and supporters.

 

More information about Leashes of Valor: Leashes of Valor is a national non-profit working to provide every post 9/11 veteran who needs one with a highly-trained service dog to assist them in mitigating the symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) or a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Our mission is to bring service dogs and post 9/11 veterans together in order to enrich and improve the lives of both.

 

I am hoping through this fundraiser we raise awareness about PTSD and the organizations and services available to Veterans who truly need it. I also, more than anything, want to bring my brothers and sisters together. I want to hope someone picks up the phone and calls a buddy who they served with and maybe just maybe prevent another suicide.
