Running for Mercy Humanitarian UK for Medical Aids
Hi, I'm Aidzat, a Malaysian finance/Fintech professional currently based in London. In 2023, I started running projects as a way to get healthier and working towards long term goal of becoming a stronger (faster) runner. For 2024, I'm working with Mercy Humanitarian UK (International Non Profit Org) to raise funds for Medics deployment to Gaza.
I pledge to run 1km for every £10 donated between 04 May 2024 until the end of May 2024 of which 100% will go to MERCY Humanitarian UK and every donation will help the fundraising effort in aid of medics deployment to Gaza. Context:
The amount of contribution, will translate into MERCY MY & Humanitarian UK Fundraising GAZA Medic Deployment Pledges:
- £25 provides medical treatment for 5 people
- £50 provides medical treatment for 10 people
- £100 provides for 10 minor surgical procedures
- £200 provides for 1 orthopaedic external fixator
- £500 provides for 3 major surgical procedures
Background:
MERCY Malaysia and MERCY Humanitarian UK are fundraising in aid of medics deployment to Gaza
- Since early March 2024 they have sent medical teams to be based at the Al-Kuwaiti Specialty Hospital in Gaza.
- The objective of this fundraising is to support future medics deployments to Gaza and to expand and sustain the operations of MERCY medical point in Al-Mawasi camp in Rafah.
- The team is a surgical cell team consisting of surgeons , anaesthetists and nurses.
- They perform emergency and trauma surgeries together with outpatient consultations.
- They also support capacity building by teaching the local staff.
- Each mission lasts for 3 weeks.
- Currently our 4th team is in Gaza and we are planning deployments till end of the year.
