Running For a Life (Adam Gray)

My name is Corey Howard, and I am doing a fundraiser for my cousin Adam Gray. As some of you all are aware, Adam was recently diagnosed with Glioblastoma. Glioblastoma is the most aggressive cancer that begins in the brain and is very difficult to treat. Adam is only 27 years old and has a very young family. He faces a long road of many challenges and hardships associated with the treatment of this very serious disease. Adam has already underwent one surgery, and his treatment currently includes chemotherapy and radiation. All options are currently under consideration, including clinical trials.

I am pleased to present to everyone the benefit that I am conducting called “Running For a Life”. 100% of the funds will go to Adam and his family in order to help cover the costs and hardships that are a direct result of this terrible disease. I take great pride in carrying out this benefit from beginning to end, as I am also a cancer survivor. I was diagnosed 13 years ago at the age of 15 with osteosarcoma, a type of bone cancer. After a year of chemotherapy treatments, the loss of my left leg below the knee, and many ups and downs, I am blessed to say that I am cancer free today. Family, friends, and support in the form of fundraisers just like this, were all a major part of the fight that saved my life. It is now time for me to pay that forward, a survivor helping a survivor, and a cousin helping a cousin.

“Running For a Life” will consist of me running a distance of 30 miles in 30 days beginning 8/16. Being an amputee will not make this challenge any easier, but it is nothing compared to the challenges that my cousin Adam is being forced to overcome. Anyone who is willing to sponsor me in this overall effort will be greatly appreciated, and can do so  by either donating a certain amount per mile, or just a simple donation. There is no amount considered too big or too small. Thanks to everyone in advance for helping me pay my gift of life forward!
