Starting this July 2019, I will be following a long-time dream of running 2,112 miles from Darwin in northern Australia to Adelaide in the south, passing through the Great Sandy, Tanami and Simpson Deserts. Instead of the ease of using vehicle support, my husband Henley Phillips will be supporting the trek on bicycle, peddling up to four hundred pounds of gear, food, and water at a time. The run will take an estimated four months to complete and will be the only known time (OKT) for a bicycle-supported transcontinental run across Australia. My purpose is to show a message to myself and others - let courage win, curiosity is extremely powerful and can be trusted, and to not, for one second, let fear undermine your dreams.

When you have a call in your heart that simply doesn't go away, especially after so many years, you've got to take notice. Make a choice - do it or put it to rest. I want to run across Oz because I can. I want my curiosity to be greater than my fear. I want to live what I believe and inspire others to do the same - it's never to late to be courageous.
***Please read my full blog post
on the backstory on how this dream came to be. It's a fun piece!***
We need you!!!! We are fundraising $16,000 to make this happen. Here's some perspective:
$30 = food for Katie and Henley for one day
$50 = a month's worth of health and nutrition support for Katie's training
$125 = 1 hour of plane travel to Australia for Katie and Henley
$200 = a huge help towards a camera so we can document the trip and share photos and do speaking engagements when we return!
We love you all so much and THANK YOU!
Katie and Henley
