Running 26.2 for Zambia

Donation protected
Last year, I saw the impact that running 13.1 miles had on 600 Zambian children's lives.
$6000 for Musonda Community School turned into multiple tables to learn at + 20 computers to take exams on = All adding up to HOPE.
Hope for a future. Hope to break the cycle of poverty to entangles so many families.
This year, this 26 year old girl is training to run 26.2 miles for this same community school in Zambia! Our goal is $3000 for a Science Laboratory with sinks that are chemical resistant, gas outlets, bunsen burners, beakers, chemicals for experiments, and more!

All children are born to love exploring and science. However, the students at Musonda have not had the opportunity to fully experience science because the school does not have access to the materials. Building this science laboratory would expose the orphans and vulnerable children to what they need to know about science and progress like they need to! The lab tables will be made from metal frames with wooden tops and PLAEP would also have had to build concrete stands and piping to support the new space. A science lab will allow Musonda Community School to have an experiential science learning environment. In addition, a laboratory helps them be one step closer to being an official exam center! Being an exam center means that the 600 students would not have to travel or pay the high fees to continue their education!! Read that last sentence again. "....they would not have to pay the high fees to continue their education." No more high fees. A sigh of relief.

I remember standing outside Musonda Community School when my Zambian friend looked at me and described how she never went on from 9th grade because her family did not have the money for the exam fee that would allow her to go on to the next grade. So that was it. She stopped school right there. Although she knew the information, she didn't have the resources to continue her education. She felt stuck. limited. even some shame and sadness. Poverty of materials and poverty of opportunities. Together we can make sure that this story does not repeat itself. Together we can create a science lab for Musonda Communtiy School which will expand their learning environment and future! Join the movement at Musonda Community School and impact over 600 orphans and vulnerable children.
