Great Wall Charity Run for Cancer

Soon after having their first baby my best mate Daniel's wife Sara was diagnosed with Cancer. This horrible news came soon after the birth of their first child. Sara's cancer is extremely rare and aggressive, having less than one hundred cases in Australia; leaving her specialist unsure on the best course of treatment.


So far Sara has had multiple operations, recently experienced a major seizure and now she will never be able to have any more kids. The list goes on... Daniel tells me the hardest thing is hearing his wife cry when she is too sick and weak to pick up or play with their daughter, or when she looks at herself in the mirror and gets upset at her ever changing body due to all the treatment and medication.

To top things off, they are leaving in a house that's half finished - as any money they have goes straight to medical bills.

As everybody knows the bills don't stop, the mortgage has to be paid and IVF and Medical bills are not cheap, with Sara not working the family are relying solely on Daniel.

I have decided to run the Great Wall of China Marathon in May this year, (considered by some as one of the hardest marathons in the world) - to help raise money for Sara and Daniel. "¨I have never run this distance before so will draw on Sara's inspiration and your support to get me to China and complete this Marathon (5164 steps of it!)"¨
