Run Around Otisco

Hi! My name is Ben Hardwick, and for those of you that don't know me, I love to run. It has been a goal of mine to run the 17 mile perimeter of Otisco Lake for many years now, and I figured I could raise a little bit of money for my two favorite charities in the process. I've never even come close to running such a long distance before, so I know this is going to be a real challenge for me.

I've grown up on Otisco Lake my entire life - it is hands down my favorite place in the world - I want to make sure it stays as healthy and beautiful as I've known it to be! That's why 50% of the money donated for this run will go to the Otisco Lake Preservation Association , an organization that aims to preserve the health, beauty, and welfare of the lake. 

The other 50% of the money donated will go to the organization that I co-founded in Kenya, Longonot Education Initiative. Our organization aims to provide education opportunities for children by building classrooms, providing school lunches and learning materials, and paying for school fees. 100% of the money donated to our organization goes directly to our projects - the money raised from this run will be used to pay for the 2018 school fees for the few students we currently do not have sponsors for. 

The run will be on Saturday, October 28th, at 2pm. I will start and finish at the Otisco Lake Park. I can't say for sure how long it will take, but if you're on the lake that day keep an eye out for me!
