<div>I am excited to announce on September 2nd, I will begin the largest physical challenge I’ve ever faced. Since completing Ironman Texas in April, I have been training with guidance from Ray Zahab, one of Canada’s most accomplished ultra runners, to take on the task of running the length of the UK from Land’s End in the South West of England to John O’Groats in the North East of Scotland.

<div>Over the course of 30 days, I will cover an ultra-marathon each day, totaling nearly 1500 kilometers. I am undertaking this challenge to raise funds for the Veterans Transition Network (VTN) and to bring attention to the crucial and life-changing work they do in Canada’s veterans as they transition to civilian life.

<div>My grandfather's service in The British Army has instilled in me a deep respect for the men and women who dedicate their lives to defend their country. His countless stories have shaped my understanding of the sacrifices made by our military and the importance of supporting veterans as they return to civilian life.

<div>The military often fosters strong self-reliance and resilience, which can make it more difficult for veterans to reach out for support even when they need it most. This is why the work of the Veterans Transition Network is so vital—they provide a safe space and the necessary resources for veterans to seek help without feeling like they’re compromising their strength. Since the inception of the program, they have helped thousands of veterans, with a positive impact seen in 94% of their participants (far above the reported industry average). Improvements experienced by VTN participants include reductions in depression, suicidality, and PTSD, and improvements in their personal relationships, well-being and transition success.
