Donation to Syrian Refugees from RUMSA

Assalamualaikum,

Last year we collected over 3000 dollars from just the students at Rutgers to help the Syrian refugees. It was surprising to see students who are still financially dependent come up with such a huge number. We did this around the same time last year and the time has come again. There is an iftar banquet on July 13 at the Rosewood Suites in Edison,NJ. I want to make sure that the first donation is from RUMSA, we did this last year and Allah blessed the rest of our year. It was arguably one of the best years MSA had seen and insha Allah we will repeat that!

This month of Ramadan is the month to give and to get forgiven. Money will not benefit you in the next life unless you give it in charity. The Syrians are in a lot of trouble, you already know that. Thousands are misplaced and have become refugees, leaving all of their posessions and wealth behind. Many with limited supplies. Insha Allah I encourage everyone to donate even if you only have a little to give. Allah looks not at the amount but how much sacrifice it took to give that amount.

Anyone and everyone can and should give!! You don't only have to be part of RUMSA to give. Give so Allah gives to you!

Give in charity because your shrouds will not have in them pockets to carry your wealth.
