I have a relatively brand new musical project called RUM FIT MOSEY. Last year I was able to write and record a short EP entitled: Singles & Filters. I did this all on my own dollar to get the wheels in motion. I wanted to be able to get something out as fast as possible and share with you my musical vision as I continue to chase down a relentless dream. I have been working tirelessly over the past year to build my new brand. I have slowly been building my own home studio; learning how to produce and engineer my own demos, and I have to tell you, I have never written music more prolifically. I have easily enough material to record three records and I have managed to narrow it down to what I feel are the 10 best songs I have written in my life.
Now I need your help. I want to make a record that will literally shake the foundation of my world and help launch me into a new level of career in music. My dream is to put together a studio band to play and record these songs with me. I then intend to release it on my own, pressing vinyl, limited edition tape cassettes and securing distribution on any and all digital media outlets. I want to give this full length release the quality, time, talent and overall attention it deserves. The reality at this point is that I need some capital. I have budgeted out what I believe it will cost for the musicians, the studio time, engineering, mixing and mastering, and I believe I can get it done for $5000. I have a secondary fund set up already that will help with pressing vinyl, album art, various other merch etc. Again, this fund is strictly what I require to hire the guns I want alongside me in the studio, the studio/engineer time, and of course mixing and mastering. It's going to be a stretch, but I know I can pull it off!
It is extremely scary and quite humbling asking folks for money. It has taken me so many sleepless nights to finally muster up the courage to make the necessary strides in order to realize this project. I invite you all to consider that if you're fans of the music I make (and have made in my previous projects such as - The Architects, Travel By Owl, or Trevor James & The Perfect Gentlemen ) consider anything you're willing and able to donate as your pre-order of the record. I intend to give a free digital copy of the record as well as some other goodies to everyone who helps me with this campaign.
For some of you, you're just learning about me and my songs, perhaps through local shows or social media platforms. For others, you likely have been watching me make a go at this the entire time. For those of you that land somewhere in the middle - please know that I have never given up. I have endured some high highs and some even lower lows, and in my darkest hours have even contemplated never picking up the guitar again. I have come to the realization that this is not an option for me. I am still trying to figure out a way to have music be my full time vocation. For better or for worse, I have to admit to you, and more importantly to myself, that this is a dream that doesn't want to die.
