Ruby Wilson Scholarship Fund

Memphis — and blues, soul, R&B music lovers worldwide — loved Ruby Wilson, who passed away August 12, 2016. Known by everyone as The Queen of Beale Street, Ruby's soulful legacy is now giving a voice to a new generation of female singers.

In conjunction with the Soulsville Foundation, we created the Ruby Wilson Scholarship Fund to provide an annual scholarship to a promising female vocalist at the renowned Stax Music Academy.

The Soulsville Foundation will manage and invest our donations to maximize the funds available to students. Other notable Memphis artists who have scholarship funds at Soulsville include Isaac Hayes, Rufus Thomas, DiAnne Price, and Al Jackson.

The Stax Music Academy does incredible work. From after-school and summer music programs to performance tours throughout the U.S. and Europe, the Academy has shown thousands of talented young people the power of Memphis music and has given them the opportunity to learn, practice, and perform music around the world.

Any donation is welcome! $5 is great. $50 is wonderful. $500 is fantastic! Every dollar will enhance the life of a talented Memphis teenager.

Ruby Wilson's friends and family are delighted to fund this scholarship to benefit the next generation of female vocalists. We are forever grateful for your love and devotion to Ruby during her life, and we hope you will donate to continue her legacy.
