Ruby's Breast Cancer Support Fund

I am launching this website for my Dad, Robert Kole, and his wife Ruby because they are in a terrible bind right now.

Ruby has been diagnosed with Stage 3 Triple Negative Breast Cancer.  This is a very aggressive cancer and she needs immediate funds so that she can undergo chemotherapy to shrink the tumor, then surgery, then chemotherapy and radiation.   All of these treatments and recovery will take approximately eight months.

These treatments have extremely high co-pays including the initial $4,000. copay for just the first four rounds of chemotheraphy.

Ruby would like to opt to get stem cell replacement therapy, however, her insurance company refuses to pay for this type of therapy.  Ruby believes strongly that stem cell replacement therapy is a better treatment in her particular case, and that it will lengthen her life substantially.  Stem cell replacement therapy is extremely costly, but well worth it if it can give her a better quality and longer life. 

About Ruby

Ruby is a beautiful and classically trained singer and artist who has spent her life traveling and performing.  As Robert's wife and partner of 25 years, Ruby is also my Dad's caretaker. 

Robert spent many years performing on Broadway before I was born, and taught me everything I know about looking deeply into situations, being honest with yourself, and the magic of performing and singing. 
Together they make a very eccentric, intellectual couple and are a heck of a lot of fun to be around. 

Robert and Ruby still perform on stage as a singing duo singing showtunes, art songs, and showstoppers.  They have shows booked for the current year.

This is how they supplement their income. Unfortunately, now they have had to cancel these shows because of Ruby's condition and course of treatment.

They are also loving grandparents to five children, Rachel, Carter, Addison, Evan, and Olivia.

Why they need help
Robert is now 85 years old has difficulty walking.  He can no longer work and is living off of social security.  He will no doubt have great physical difficulty taking care of Ruby throughout her treatment and recovery process.  He also has some medical conditions that are being monitored and let's face it; it is hard to be 85.

Ruby will no longer be able to work while she is undergoing treatment and with her loss of wages, there is no way for them to cover the copays, along with their everyday living expenses. 

Apparently the hospitals in their local area (South Florida) have been replaced with surgical centers and they will not begin treatment until the copays are paid in full. 

Since being diagnosed two weeks ago, every day Ruby is facing the scary and tragic reality of her situation and there is not anything she can do herself to fix it.
