ruby bridges school visit

this month my students have been learning about dr. martin luther king jr. my students have been so interested that they have done their own research. one of my students found a book about ruby bridges, who was the first african american student to be allowed in an all white student school. they asked me if she was still alive and when we found out she was the question of whether or not they could meet her roared throughout the classroom. it is very difficult to get students this engaged in school and i do not want to let them down. it costs $2500 to have an assembly plus airfare and hotel for ruby bridges. please please please help me reach my students' dream of meeting such an inspirational woman!!
