<div>Rubie was Born during a pandemic in 2020 at 24 weeks after Bethany got covid while being a key worker looking after covid patients. Her water broke at 20 weeks and rubie was born at 24 weeks in barrow in furness SCBU. she was transfered to Burnley hospital and then closer to home but when they arrived back in barrow they discovered rubie had ROP and needed laser eye surgery at Liverpool womens hospital a few weeks later it didn't work and rubie needed emergency surgery on her eyes in london at G.O.S.H.

<div>They have 2 other children Noah and Amelia age 11 and 5 who are amazing with Rubie, Amelia has been under investigation for weakness on her left side and a MRI has confirmed mild cerebral palsy earlier this year and they have found out she has a few other problems with a brain stem and her spinal cord also needing multiple appointments in Manchester and there local hospital. As well as rubies appointments at Liverpool and london as well as local. This is taking a huge tole financially!

<div>Bethany hasn't been able to return to work and rory is working 4 night a week providing for there family as well as supporting Bethany and his children with appointments and hospital admissions.

<div>Rubie was in hospital for a total of 117 days when born due to her being so premature and only weighing 730g.

<div>she now has allot of things going on with her weight shes extremely small but very strong...she is on the pathway for a autisum diagnosis she has a severe learning disability and her mental age is around 18 months old she is 4 years old! She needs safe guarding at all times in school and at home due to her lack of understanding and safety awearness she is also registered blind (ssi)... They have a number of professionals Involved and are in the process of apply for funding

<div>towards a extention on there home as you can imagine this takes time and can take up to 2 years to sort the funding alone and they may not get accepted straight away or at all and that's becoming a fight to even get the application form done! This is taking allot of time and it's time they don't have due to rubie requiring a safe area at home to sleep and wash.. a few weeks ago rubie was in her room where she has been safe many times and managed to climb 3 gates and Bethany caught her trying to climb over the stair banister with a 10/12ft drop!!Rubie has no understanding and no safty awareness. Rory managed to put a partition wall in the girls bedroom for them to have there own space and due to rubie waking in the night but shes getting out of bed and now trying to hurt Amelia to get out of her bedroom with amelias disability this is becoming a huge risk.

<div>Bethany and Rory are the most kindest couple who would help anyone and never ask for help, they are amazing parents and live and breath for the kids. Bethany is Rubies full time carer and rory works full time and unfortunately with the cost of living they can't save allot with having 1 wage coming into the home and travel costs with all the appointments they attend for both children.
