On the night of August Sunday the 26th, a gas tank expolded in my brother, Ruben’s home. This explosion caused 75 percent of his body to burned compromising organs and tissue. At this moment he is at Erasmo Meoz hospital in Cucuta, Colombia. The doctors have him in an induced coma for the excruciating pain. Unfortunately, this is a smaller hospital and they do not have the necessary equipment and medication for the severity of his condition. We have been blessed because the staff and doctors have not left his side and are fighting to save his life.
At this point, Ruben needs to be transferred by helicopter to a hospital in Bogotá where they are prepared for his arrival. He is only 26 and has has a wife and 2 small children to take care of. We are praying that this transfer will save his life and he may be able to make a full recovery. This amount should cover the cost of the helicopter transfer. Durante la noche del Domingo 26 de Agosto, un tanque de gas explotó en la casa de mi hermano Ruben Enrique. Esta explosión causó la quemadura de 75 porciento de su cuerpo comprometiéndo su piel y sus órganos. En este momento, Rubén se encuentra en el hospital Erasmo Meoz en Cúcuta, Colombia. Los doctores lo tienen bajo un coma inducido para evitar el dolor excrujente de sus quemaduras. Desafortunadamente, este hospital no está equipado para el nivel de cuidado que require Ruben. Hemos sido muy bendecidos por los doctores y enfermeros que han estado a su lado luchando por salvarle la vida.
En este momento, Ruben tiene que ser traslado urgentemente a un hospital en Bogotá, Colombia donde están esperando su llegada. Ruben tiene solo 26 años y una esposa y dos hijos pequeños a quien cuidar. Estamos orando para que esta transferencia le salve la vida y pueda recuperarse total.
