It is with great sadness that the family of Ruben Dale Towery announces his passing after a difficult and protracted illness, on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at the age of 39 years.
Ruben’s greatest joy in life was his 9-year-old son, Jacob Eli Towery. Ruben's untimely death has presented his family with the financial challenge of covering extensive medical costs, as well as educational expenses for Jacob Eli's future.

Ruben attended South Jones High School in Ellisville, MS, where he stared in baseball and football and graduated with honors. Ruben graduated from Mississippi State University, Starkville, MS, in 2002 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Following graduation, Ruben worked as a Transmission Line Engineer for Southern Company, Birmingham, AL.
Ruben had an infectious personality and euphoric spirit. He had a special gift of empathy and reached out to those marginalized and less fortunate. Ruben is a loss to his family and community, and will be profoundly missed.
