Ruben Cajigas Fundraising Benefit

Our hearts are hurting as we learned of the passing of recently retired & current Reserve Officer, Ruben Cajigas. Officer Cajigas joined TPD in August of 1998 where he was assigned to patrol in Operations Division West. He was later assigned to South Division and Downtown Division. He was also a member of the Hostage Negotiator Unit. Many will remember Officer Cajigas as a School Resource Officer who mentored & helped students at Catalina High School. Once he retired in June of 2020, Officer Cajigas became a Reserve Officer with TPD.

Ruben was a valued member of the department and cared deeply for his co-workers. He always had  a positive attitude and was willing to go the extra mile for his brothers and sisters in blue. Ruben will be missed by all and is survived by many loving family members. Rest In Peace Brother.

The Southern Arizona Law Enforcement Training Center, Basic recruit class 21-1 is holding a tower challenge to raise funds for Officer Cajigas' surviving family during this tough time.
